Overview

Introduction to Equity & Debt Discharge

  • Equity is justice administered according to fairness, contrasted with strict common law rules
  • Allows individuals to be equal to judges/prosecutors and settle matters directly
  • Present in all courts procedurally, even if not explicitly acknowledged
  • Gives power to make and discharge contracts, overriding statutory/civil law in some cases

Debt Discharge Using Equity

  • Can be used to discharge IRS debts, credit cards, mortgages, criminal charges
  • Involves accepting charges/debts and seeking settlement, not arguing facts/jurisdiction
  • Goal is to close accounts and compel remedy through honor and asking the right questions
  • Not guaranteed to work in all cases, especially high-profile ones, but low-risk for financial matters

Applying Equity Principles

  • Emphasis on honor, accepting responsibility, and seeking settlement
  • Verbal communication often most effective for compelling remedy
  • Goal is to have equal dialogue with authority figures, not argue or beg
  • Can be applied to personal relationships and business dealings as well
